Nearly 75,000 people packed Vélez Stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina, for the two-night Esperanza Buenos Aires Festival hosted by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA), with more than 9,000 making decisions for Christ.
Evangelist Franklin Graham preached about God’s love and the need for repentance and faith. “God loves you. He made you and cares for you and has a plan for your life,” Graham said. “He wants to forgive you, but you have to come to His Son, Jesus Christ, in repentance and faith.”
The outreach was organized in partnership with nearly 2,500 evangelical churches across the city. Ale Nüesch, church coordinator for the event, said, “I was blown away and surprised by the number of people who came forward… It’s a miracle from heaven, and we thank God for each and every person whose life was transformed by accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.”
Despite rain on Friday night, more than 30,000 attended, and thousands more filled the stadium and surrounding streets on Saturday to hear Graham and musical guests including Rescate, Redimi2, Michael W. Smith, and Charity Gayle. On the second night alone, nearly 43,000 were present.
Adriana, 30, said the message on sin deeply impacted her. “God is calling me back… This event renewed my faith. I go home very blessed and encouraged to follow Christ.” Valentino shared, “I felt His love, I felt joy… Today, I believe He is the way, the truth, and the life.” Sergio added, “That heavy backpack I had always carried, I no longer feel it. Now I have peace of mind.”
After the event, Graham wrote, “We give God the glory for the hundreds of people who came forward… to repent of their sins and accept God’s gift of salvation by putting their trust in Jesus Christ.”
