Singer Colton Dixon says the birth of his daughter Ava Dior in 2020 was the most terrifying moment of his life. After a healthy pregnancy, complications during labor required doctors to perform an emergency C-section to deliver Colton and his wife Annie’s twins. When Ava was born, she was not breathing and had no pulse.
Colton recalls standing beside his wife as doctors and nurses rushed to save their newborn. In that moment, he says they faced a choice between fear and faith.
Instead of panicking, Colton and Annie began to pray, believing God was still a God of miracles. As medical staff worked, they watched as Ava’s condition suddenly changed.
She began to breathe. Her pulse returned.
Colton describes it as an immediate answer to prayer and a moment that reaffirmed everything they believed about God’s faithfulness.
Today, Ava is alive and thriving. The Dixons credit God for preserving their daughter’s life and carrying them through one of their darkest moments.
