John Lowris was diagnosed with grade 4 bladder cancer, the most aggressive form of the disease. Doctors warned him that without treatment, the cancer would likely spread to his lungs, liver, or bones and prove fatal.
Faced with a dire prognosis, John turned to God and confessed that he needed more than just healing — he needed a transformed life. As he prayed, John realized he needed to deal honestly with sin he had hidden from his wife. He confessed his infidelity and struggles, which brought deep repentance and a renewed commitment to Christ.
John prayed persistent Scripture-based prayers for healing, following James 5:14 by inviting church elders to pray over him and anoint him with oil. He believed God’s promises about healing and refused to let fear dominate his heart.
When John went into surgery, doctors were stunned. They found no trace of active cancer in his bladder — only the previously identified tumor that they were able to remove. There was no need for chemotherapy or radiation. Today, John is cancer-free and shares his story of how surrendering to Christ and believing God’s Word brought complete healing.
