Jonathan Roumie says his life reached a breaking point long before The Chosen changed everything. At the time, the actor recalls being “financially strained, food-deprived, desperate, and without options.” He says he was “literally on my knees,” crying out to God: “I didn’t know what else to do. I surrendered my situation, my career, my life, my finances—everything to God.”
Roumie describes that moment as “full and complete surrender,” a turning point that reshaped his faith and direction. “Three months later, I landed the role in The Chosen,” he said, calling it a moment when “my life literally turned on a dime.”
