In 2020, Brooklyn Boyer, a college student in Texas, dove into a swimming pool, and suddenly, she found herself stuck under the water unable to move. She had struck her head on the bottom of the pool and suffered a severe spinal cord injury. Her high school sweetheart, Alan Mann, had just completed lifeguard training. He helped stabilize her until first responders arrived—actions doctors said were critical to saving her life. Although alive, doctors warned her family that she might never walk again.
Later, Brooklyn shared something powerful:
“The first thing I thought of was that I could feel God on the bottom of the pool with me. I’m going to be OK.”
Brooklyn’s recovery has been gradual, but her progress has exceeded early medical expectations. She has regained movement, continues therapy, and has spoken openly about the role of faith, prayer, and God’s sustaining presence through it all.
Beautifully, in 2025, her boyfriend who helped save her life proposed to her.
We serve a God of miracles!!
