Fruit Over Claims

THE SPIRIT PRODUCES

A lot of people say they have the Holy Spirit.

But Galatians 5 tells us the Spirit produces fruit.

That means the evidence of the Spirit is not just what someone claims, posts, sings, teaches, or says they believe.

The evidence shows up in what their life begins to produce.

The Spirit produces love.

Not fake kindness for public approval.

Not selective love that only works when people agree with you.

Real love that tells the truth, forgives, serves, sacrifices, and refuses to become cruel just because the world is cruel.

The Spirit produces joy.

Not happiness based on everything going right.

Not pretending pain is not real.

Joy is deeper than circumstances. It is the strength that comes from knowing God is still good, still present, and still working even when life feels heavy.

The Spirit produces peace.

Not a life with no problems.

Not a personality that never feels pressure.

Peace is what happens when your soul stops trying to play God. It is the quiet strength of trusting Him when you cannot control the outcome.

The Spirit produces patience.

And that one convicts a lot of us.

Because patience is not just waiting.

Patience is how you wait.

It is not snapping at everyone because life is inconvenient. It is not rushing God because His timing is slower than your anxiety. It is learning to trust Him without becoming bitter in the delay.

The Spirit produces kindness.

Not weakness.

Not people pleasing.

Kindness is strength under control. It is choosing not to become harsh just because you have been hurt.

The Spirit produces goodness.

A heart that wants what is right.

A life that does not just avoid looking bad, but actually desires to please God.

The Spirit produces faithfulness.

This is the part our generation struggles with.

People quit when it gets hard.

They leave when it gets uncomfortable.

They obey when it is convenient.

But the Spirit produces a kind of faith that stays rooted when feelings change.

The Spirit produces gentleness.

Not being soft on sin.

Not being afraid to speak truth.

Gentleness means you do not use truth as an excuse to be cruel. You can be bold without being hateful. You can correct without crushing. You can stand firm without becoming proud.

And the Spirit produces self control.

That means not every desire gets permission.

Not every emotion gets a microphone.

Not every temptation gets your agreement.

Not every thought gets to become a decision.

This is why this passage is so important.

Because Christianity is not just about claiming Jesus with your mouth.

It is about being changed by His Spirit.

Some people have gifts, but no fruit.

Some people have platforms, but no patience.

Some people know Scripture, but have no love.

Some people can argue theology, but cannot control their tongue.

Some people look spiritual in public, but their private life produces something completely different.

Fruit does not lie.

A tree is known by what it produces.

So the question is not just, “Do I say I have the Spirit?”

The question is, “What is my life producing?”

Because where the Spirit is truly working, something begins to grow.
