ARE WE BUILDING A GOD FROM HUMAN PRIDE?
In Genesis 11, humanity gathered together and said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves.”
Babel was not just about bricks. It was about pride. It was mankind saying, “We can rise high enough without God. We can unite under our own power. We can build our way into heaven.”
Now look at where we are.
Artificial intelligence, AGI, genetic engineering, transhumanism, digital consciousness, machines made in our own image. Once again, humanity is reaching upward, not in worship, but in ambition. We are not just building tools anymore. We are building minds. We are trying to create something that thinks, learns, speaks, judges, and maybe one day rules.
The question is not whether technology is evil. The question is what kind of heart is holding it.
Babel shows us what happens when human genius is separated from humility before God. Progress without surrender becomes rebellion. Intelligence without wisdom becomes dangerous. Power without morality becomes an idol.
Maybe the question is not, “Are we advancing?”
Maybe the better question is, “Are we rebuilding Babel?”
