Gen Z Turns Back to Church, Graham Says

Evangelist Franklin Graham said rising church attendance among younger Americans reflects a growing rejection of what he called “anti-God socialism” and a renewed search for truth and meaning. Commenting on recent statistics during a Fox News appearance, Graham said Generation Z and millennials have become disillusioned after being “fed the lie of socialism,” which he described as fundamentally opposed to God, prompting many to look for something deeper.
Graham pointed to data showing that younger adults now attend church more frequently on a monthly basis than older generations, adding that Bible sales are increasing and that young people are reading Scripture for themselves and returning to church. He expressed gratitude for what he sees as a spiritual shift, saying many are questioning ideas they were taught and seeking answers beyond politics and ideology.
He also cited the assassination of conservative Christian activist Charlie Kirk as a moment that intensified spiritual curiosity among young people, saying large numbers were drawn to Kirk’s memorial and message. While acknowledging that not all studies show consistent engagement across every measure, Graham said the overall trend suggests a hunger for truth and faith, as younger Americans respond against what he described as years of misinformation and spiritual emptiness.
