After being dismissed as head coach of the Baltimore Ravens, John Harbaugh shared a farewell message grounded in his Christian faith, expressing gratitude rather than resentment.
“I was hoping for a different kind of message on my last day here,” Harbaugh wrote. “It comes with disappointment, but more with gratitude and appreciation.”
He reflected on a legacy rooted in faith and perseverance, ultimately pointing to God as his source of peace through the transition.
“Finally, to the author and finisher of our faith,” Harbaugh wrote, “all is well with my soul because of the good God who guides and sustains me.”
Harbaugh has long emphasized faith over outcomes, previously quoting Scripture in an Athletes in Action “Hall of Faith” address: “A person makes their plans, but the Lord directs their steps” (Proverbs 16:9).
