HELL IS FOR
This is one of those topics people do not want to talk about anymore.
Not because the Bible is unclear.
But because hell forces every person to face the weight of eternity.
A lot of people want a version of Christianity where God loves, God forgives, God comforts, God blesses, but God never judges.
But Jesus talked about judgment.
Jesus warned about hell.
Jesus did not treat eternity like a metaphor we could ignore when it made us uncomfortable.
Revelation 21:8 gives a sobering list. The cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars have their portion in the lake that burns with fire.
That verse should not make Christians arrogant.
It should make us tremble.
Hell is not for people we dislike.
Hell is not a weapon to throw at strangers online.
Hell is not something believers should talk about with excitement.
Hell is the final judgment of a holy God against sin, rebellion, evil, and every person who refuses the mercy offered through Jesus Christ.
Hell is for the unrepentant.
Not the person who struggles and keeps running back to God.
Not the person who falls and cries out for mercy.
Not the person who hates their sin and wants to be free.
But the person who loves darkness, protects sin, excuses evil, and refuses to turn.
Hell is for the unbelieving.
Not because God lacked love.
John 3:16 says God so loved the world that He gave His only Son.
The problem is not that God refused to save.
The problem is that people refuse the Savior.
Hell is for the wicked.
The people who live as if God will never call anything into account.
The people who crush others, lie, manipulate, abuse, exploit, and still think no judgment is coming.
Hell is for the sexually immoral, the idolaters, and the liars because sin is not casual to God.
Our culture treats sin like personality.
God treats sin like rebellion.
Our culture calls it freedom.
God calls people to repentance.
And hell is for those who reject Christ because Jesus is not one option among many.
He is the way, the truth, and the life.
That is why this message matters.
Not because we want people afraid for no reason.
But because eternity is real.
Judgment is real.
Sin is real.
And the cross is real.
If hell were not real, the cross would not make sense.
Jesus did not die to improve your self esteem.
He died to save your soul.
So before people mock this topic, they should ask themselves one honest question.
If Jesus warned about hell, why would I treat it like a joke?
