In God We Trust Act Introduced in Congress

Congresswoman Mary Miller (R-IL) has introduced the “In God We Trust Act,” legislation that would require the national motto to be prominently displayed on federal buildings across America.

The phrase “In God We Trust” has a long history in our nation. First appearing on U.S. coins during the Civil War, it was officially adopted as America’s national motto in 1956.

Miller stated, “We will never apologize for being one nation that places its trust in Almighty God.”

Supporters of the bill say this serves as a reminder of the spiritual foundation that has influenced America’s history and identity.

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” —Psalm 33:12

What do you think? Should “In God We Trust” be displayed in every federal building?
