Kathie Lee Gifford said a season of pain and disappointment left her in “a black place” for two years, where she cried out to God and wondered if He was finished with her life.
Speaking to TBN, Gifford said she told the Lord, “If this is all you have for me… then take me home,” even as new grandchildren were being born. She said the depth of her despair led her either to cry out to God for purpose and joy or to pray for others who were suffering.
Gifford said that praying for others became “the road out.” She also pointed to James, saying the Bible teaches believers to “consider it all joy” during trials, though she admitted that does not come naturally.
