Actor Kirk Cameron said he moved his family from California to Tennessee because he no longer felt safe and believed California was moving in the wrong direction.
Cameron said the decision was shaped by COVID-19 restrictions as well as the political and cultural climate in the state. “It’s pretty clear that California has been moving in a particular direction for a long time,” he said.
He said Tennessee has become home to many former Californians, including creatives looking for community outside Hollywood. Cameron added that the state appeals to people who value “God, family, and country.”
