Nationwide Call to Prayer and Repentance

Evangelist Franklin Graham urged Americans to respond to rising “hate, anger, crime, drugs, and sheer hopelessness” with prayer and repentance, calling for a nationwide moment of prayer on Wednesday, January 14, at 12:00 noon. He warned that the nation has “increasingly turned our backs on God and His commands, embracing godless secularism,” and said the answer is to “ask His forgiveness and seek His face.”

Graham called on believers to pray for national leaders and for God to “bring calm to our streets,” while also asking that efforts to sow chaos and destroy the country would be “thwarted and their plans brought into confusion.” Emphasizing the role of the Church, he wrote, “Ask God to use His Church to be His instruments of peace in this time of great uncertainty.”

He concluded by encouraging humility and collective repentance, saying that “millions of people remembering our sins and asking for forgiveness… will make a difference,” and urged Americans to “give God the glory for this great nation and thank Him for His hand of blessing, protection, and mercy.”
