The Nephilim. Most Christians think they were just “big people.” That’s not even close to
What Genesis 6 is describing.
“The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of
God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them.” This wasn’t a normal
birth. This was a corruption of the human bloodline so severe that God had to flood the
entire earth to stop it.
The Hebrew word “Nephilim” literally means “fallen ones.” Not tall ones. Fallen. These
weren’t just physically imposing—they were genetically hybrid beings that resulted from
angels (the “sons of God”) violating the natural order. The Book of Enoch, which was
widely read by early Christians and quoted in Jude, goes into disturbing detail about

drinking blood, and creating a race of violent giants that consumed everything (yes, the very resources on earth)
Here’s what modern sermons won’t tell you: the Nephilim didn’t all die in the flood.
Numbers 13:33 explicitly says the Israelite spies saw Nephilim in Canaan. Goliath and
his brothers were likely descendants. The “giants” in the land weren’t just tall warriors—
They were remnants of a pre-flood abomination.
And the most unsettling part? Revelation and other prophetic texts suggest a return of
similar conditions before Christ’s second coming. “As it was in the days of Noah, so it
will be at the coming of the Son of Man.” What if that’s not just about wickedness—but
about the return of hybrid beings?
The ancient world was terrified of the Nephilim. They built massive structures trying to
reach heaven. They created mythologies around “demigods” and “titans.” Every ancient
culture has stories of giants and god-human hybrids. What if they weren’t myths? What

God didn’t just dislike the Nephilim. He ordered their complete destruction. Every man,

This isn’t fringe theology. Church fathers like Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, and Clement of
Alexandria all taught that Genesis 6 described literal angelic-human hybridization. It was
only later that the church tried to soften this into a metaphor.
The Nephilim represent the most dangerous spiritual truth: there are forces actively
trying to corrupt God’s creation at the genetic level. And according to prophecy, they’re
not done trying.
