Senior Pastor Paul Chappell, Senior Pastor of Lancaster Baptist Church and President of West Coast Baptist College, publicly condemned former CNN host Don Lemon and a group of activists for storming Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota, during a worship service on Jan. 18. Chappell called the incident a clear violation of the federal FACE Act, which protects religious worship from interference. In a post shared on social media, he said Christians should demand that the Department of Justice arrest those involved, warning that religious liberty in the United States must be defended.
