Patricia Heaton shared a powerful moment at the America Reads the Bible kickoff, saying she read the Bible cover to cover for the first time two years ago and was deeply moved by John 21.
She laughed at Peter asking Jesus, “What about him?” regarding John, saying it felt like a scene from Everybody Loves Raymond. But the humor suddenly turned into tears.
Standing in her kitchen, she asked God why she was crying and felt Him say, “You’re weeping because it’s true.”
Heaton said the disciples’ flaws and honesty convinced her the Bible is authentic. If God could use Peter, she added, He can use anyone.
