Pray for Leaders, Not Against Them

A Georgia pastor (Lionheart Church) recently went viral for urging Christians to pray for Donald Trump instead of speaking negatively about him because “God is using that man outside your understanding,”. And whether you agree with him or not—the principle behind it is 100% biblical.

Scripture does not tell us to mock, curse, or tear down leaders. It tells us to pray for them.

1 Timothy 2:1–2 says:

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”

When leadership is just and guided by godly wisdom, everyday people benefit. Prayer invites God’s influence into decisions that impact families, economies, churches, and freedom itself.se
