Jonathan Roumie, the actor who portrays Jesus in The Chosen, shared that prayer has been at the center of his life throughout the last eight years of playing the role. Speaking during the America 250 “Rededicate 250: Celebrating Prayer and Praise” event in Washington, D.C., Roumie said he could not take on the role of Jesus without relying on faith and prayer.
“If God hands you the assignment of portraying on a global stage His own Son, the Savior of the world… and you do not have faith, Lord help,” he said.
Roumie also reflected on his work with the Hallow app, emphasizing that prayer continues to shape both his personal life and public calling.
