Quinton Aaron Shares Coma Encounter That Deepened His Faith

After spending four days in a coma caused by a spinal stroke, actor Quinton Aaron says he had a life-changing encounter with Jesus that deepened his faith.

Aaron, best known for playing Michael Oher in The Blind Side, said he “coded a few times” while in the hospital and had to be revived. Looking back, he said everything made sense after what he experienced during the coma.

“I saw Jesus,” Aaron said. He described seeing Him in a white robe with “long white hair” and a golden glow beneath Him. Aaron said Jesus placed His hands on the exact place in his back where the pain had been, and “I felt all the pain go away.”

Moments later, he said he woke up in his hospital bed, unable to speak because he was intubated, but convinced he no longer needed surgery. Doctors later confirmed surgery would not be necessary.

Aaron said the experience did not create faith in him, but strengthened the faith he already had. “I grew up in the church, so I was always a believer,” he explained, “but this made it… increased my faith.”

Now recovering after three months in the hospital, Aaron says he feels he was given “a second chance.” He added, “My work here is not done—I got more to do, so there’s more to the story.”
