I am disturbed at the amount of people who claim to be born again Christians who are not happy about President Trump wanting to rededicate America as one nation under God. You could say, “Well, we don’t know which god he’s talking about,” except he has repeatedly referred to Jesus—even as “our Lord and Savior.”
Do we realize we could have a president who wants to dedicate our nation to Allah? To Baal? To Oshun? Who lifts up all kinds of ungodly concepts like “pride” and all that comes with it? Instead we have a president who strongly advocates for Christians and Christian organizations.
People are saying things like: “Just another wolf in sheep clothing. Better judge the tree by the fruit it produces, not by mere appearance.”
Calling for your nation to be dedicated to God IS good fruit! BAD fruit looks like rejecting Jesus and Biblical principles, choosing false gods, and persecuting Christians.
Even if you believe President Trump isn’t truly born again or fully understands the gospel, the Apostle Paul said:
“Those others do not have pure motives as they preach about Christ. They preach with selfish ambition, not sincerely, intending to make my chains more painful to me. But that doesn’t matter. Whether their motives are false or genuine, the message about Christ is being preached either way, so I rejoice. And I will continue to rejoice.”-Philippians 1:18
This should be our attitude as well.
