Kennedy Jr. argued that parents must remain vigilant rather than blindly “trust the experts,” saying such trust is “not a feature of democracy and it’s not a feature of science.” Drawing on his experience litigating the Monsanto case, he said experts from the same elite institutions offered “two opposite things” based on bias. Kennedy claimed that unquestioned deference to authority resembles “religion and totalitarianism,” not democracy, and accused the government of repeatedly lying to the public, including about dietary guidelines “for 50 years.”
