Silvana Atef Fanous: Kidnapped and Forced Conversion Case in Egypt

Silvana Atef Fanous (photo), a minor Egyptian Christian girl with disabilities, was kidnapped by a Muslim man and forced to convert to Islam and marry him.

She was later seen dressed as a Muslim and speaking on a video, being coached by a woman in the background, “describing her conversion to Islam and stating her Christian family was kuffar (infidels).”

“The tragedy began on October 28, when Silvana suddenly disappeared from in front of her home in October. She then fell into the hands of a person identified as ‘M. S.,’ who later claimed she was his wife—an incident that flagrantly violates the Child Laws…which protects those lacking legal capacity.”

Her family is still desperately trying to get her returned back to their home. Her parents have obtained legal representation and their appeal in in Egypt’s court system.

Lord Jesus, You love Silvana who is a young Christian girl with mental disabilities. She has been unlawfully taken from her home and forced to make life-changing decisions against her will. Deliver her from the family who is holding her captive. Grant her favor in the courts. Protect Silvana from harm. Give wisdom to her parents and lawyers to know what to do as weeks and months pass by. You are the “Lord of the Breakthrough” and we ask that You would break through all the barriers being put up against Silvana being returned back to her home. For Your glory in Egypt. Amen.
