Southeastern U Pauses Classes Amid Student-Led Revival

Student-led worship has caused Southeastern University to cancel classes as nonstop prayer and repentance continue filling the campus chapel, drawing comparisons to the 2023 revival at Asbury University.

The gathering began during a conference after Jennie Allen invited nearly 2,300 students to publicly confess their struggles. For 15 minutes, students openly shared battles with fear, anger, pornography, insecurity, and other burdens. Campus pastor Jonathan Rivera described the moment as bringing ‘freedom instead of shame,’ adding, ‘Something shifted in the room immediately.’

Worship has continued day and night since Wednesday evening, with students leading prayer, Scripture reading, and testimonies. Many have remained overnight in the chapel, and university leaders say there is currently no timeline for when the gathering may conclude
