President Donald Trump said Christianity and religion are “taking off” again in America, arguing that strong faith helps strengthen the nation and reduce crime.
Trump said the United States was “built largely on religion” and claimed the country is seeing renewed interest in Christianity after years of decline.
“Religion is making a tremendous comeback,” Trump said. “You look at churches today, they’re full.”
He also argued that faith gives people moral direction and helps create a healthier society, saying, “When you have strong religion, you have less crime.”
Trump praised Christianity’s historical influence on America, calling it “a great thing for our country,” and said many of the nation’s successes were built on faith and religious values.
The comments quickly gained attention online, with many Christians celebrating what they see as a growing openness toward faith in America’s culture and public life.
