Tulsi Gabbard resigned as director of national intelligence after revealing that her husband, Abraham, had been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer.
“Unfortunately, I must submit my resignation, effective June 30, 2026,” Gabbard wrote. “My husband, Abraham, has recently been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer.”
Days later, Gabbard shared Psalm 141:8, expressing trust in God during uncertainty: “But my eyes are toward you, O God, my Lord; in you I seek refuge.”
Her decision came at a difficult personal and public moment, as she stepped away from national office to be with her husband during his health battle.
As Gabbard leaves public service, her Scripture post points to a posture of faith, refuge, and dependence on God in the face of suffering.
