After defeating Anthony Joshua in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk openly gave glory to Jesus Christ—despite competing in an Islamic kingdom where public expressions of other faiths are restricted.
Following the fight, Usyk made the sign of the cross, wore a crucifix, and publicly affirmed his faith, declaring that Jesus Christ is his Lord. The Ukrainian boxer, a devout Orthodox Christian, has consistently used both global stages and his personal social media to glorify Christ, frequently writing statements such as “Jesus is Lord” and “All glory belongs to Jesus Christ.”
His example serves as a reminder to believers everywhere to stand firm and confess Christ boldly—no matter the setting.
