Astronaut Victor Glover asked Christians to pray as he prepared for NASA’s lunar mission, saying, “Pray for our crew. Pray for the hardware. Pray for the team all around the world that support this. And the hardest mission of all is the one our families are about to embark on. If you could pray for our families, that would be amazing.”
Glover said his faith shapes the way he approaches both spaceflight and daily life. Quoting the Lord’s Prayer, he said he wants to live so that “Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven,” adding, “I know that God can use us for his purposes.” He also said he intentionally puts God “at the front, in the very first comment, and at the end,” because that is how he tries to live his life.
Looking ahead to the mission, Glover said he plans to pray at liftoff and continue trusting God through the risks and responsibility ahead. He also reflected on reading Scripture in space and said drawing near to God there became a powerful part of his walk with Christ.
