Wheelchair Without Need: A Call for Discernment and Deliverance

This man needs a devil cast out of him. Jørund Alme is a 53 year old able-bodied Norwegian man who uses a wheelchair without medical need. He told media he “always wished he had been born a woman who was paralyzed from the waist down” and says he uses a wheelchair “almost all the time,” not always.

For those who truly live with disabilities, treating such serious challenges as optional or desirable deeply undermines their reality and struggles.

From a biblical standpoint, sickness and disease entered the world as a consequence of sin and the enemy’s work (John 10:10). The Bible makes clear that the devil is the author of sickness and destruction—not God (Luke 13:16; Exodus 15:26). To desire or embrace disability is essentially desiring the devil to be at work in your life and rejecting God’s perfect design and gift of health (3 John 1:2).

True healing and wholeness come from God alone, who is our ultimate healer and restorer (Psalm 103:2-3; Isaiah 53:5). May we pray that those caught in spiritual deception like this man find freedom through the power of Christ, who came to destroy the works of the devil and bring abundant life.
