The reported execution of 19-year-old Iranian wrestling talent Saleh Mohammadi has triggered international condemnation after officials linked his case to protest activity.
Mohammadi, described as a rising athlete, was put to death alongside two others. Human rights groups say the case raises serious concerns, citing allegations of coerced confessions and a lack of fair legal process.
Olympic gold medalist Brandon Slay expressed sorrow while pointing to faith as his source of hope: “My prayers are with Saleh Mohammadi’s family… In the face of such oppression, I hold to the hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”
Jesus called Himself the Light of the world — and light ultimately overcomes darkness. Even when injustice appears to prevail, it does not have the final word.
“The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only light that overcomes darkness and only truth that proclaims justice and mercy will one day prevail.”—Brandon Slay
