Bezos Says Trump Is More Mature in Term Two

The interview aired Wednesday, and the words came from one of the last people anyone expected to say them. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos told CNBC’s Squawk Box host Andrew Ross Sorkin during a sit-down at the Blue Origin rocket factory in Florida that President Donald Trump has become a more mature and more disciplined leader in his second term. Bezos said directly: “I’m comparing him to his first term, and I think he is a more mature, more disciplined version of himself than he was in his first term.” He added that Trump has lots of good ideas, has been right about a lot of things, and that “you have to give him credit where credit is due.” The remarks are notable because of the history between the two men. During Trump’s first term, Bezos owned the Washington Post and was a frequent target of Trump’s criticism, with the president openly mocking him as “Jeff Bozo.” Bezos attended Trump’s second inauguration in January 2025 alongside Elon Musk, and Amazon has made several business moves aligned with the administration since.
