The Texas Rangers are the only team in all of Major League Baseball not holding a Pride Night this June — and they’re doing something else instead.
On June 18, the Rangers will host Faith and Family Day at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, during a home game against the Minnesota Twins. The event features exclusive postgame content including personal testimonies from Rangers players Wyatt Langford, Josh Jung, Cody Bradford, Jacob Latz, Jalen Beeks, and others, sharing openly how faith in Jesus Christ shapes their lives on and off the field. The Rangers have not held a formal Pride event in more than 20 years, making them the lone holdout in a league where all 29 other teams are hosting LGBTQ-themed nights this month.
Third baseman Josh Jung has been among the most vocal. He has spoken publicly about finding his identity in Christ rather than in his performance as a professional athlete — a rare posture in modern professional sports culture.
The backlash has been significant. Critics on social media have called the decision “malicious” and “not subtle.” The team has not publicly responded.
What a professional sports franchise chooses to celebrate says something. The Rangers have made their statement clearly, without apology, for over two decades running.
Joshua 24:15 says, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
Some things don’t need defending. They just need to be said.
What do you think — should more professional sports teams hold Faith and Family events? #mlb #america #faith
