Candace Cameron Bure just called this one of the most impactful moments of her career — and a sitting U.S. president made it historic.
During the “America Reads the Bible” event held at the Museum of the Bible in Washington D.C., actress and national spokesperson Candace Cameron Bure described the gathering as “such an exciting time in history,” saying “never has this been done in such a public platform, to join all Americans together.” The seven-day marathon featured nearly 450 readers working through the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation, with President Trump joining by reading from 2 Chronicles 7:11–22 in a pre-recorded message from the Oval Office.
Bure, serving as national spokesperson, said the event brought together “government officials, farmers, pastors, entertainers, educators, and every day American moms and dads,” adding: “We are all united and reminded that we are equal in God’s eyes.”
The passage Trump read contains one of the most quoted verses in American revival history — a direct call for national humility and repentance. That it was read from the Oval Office is not a small thing.
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will heal their land.” — 2 Chronicles 7:14
A nation doesn’t change by policy alone. It changes when its people return to the Word.
