Donnie Wahlberg turned a social media rap challenge into a public statement of faith, joining Forrest Frank’s “Jesus Is Alive” Open Verse Challenge with lyrics about Jesus, forgiveness, Scripture, and obedience.
The Blue Bloods star and New Kids on the Block member posted the video after saying his wife, Jenny McCarthy, encouraged him to take part. In his verse, Wahlberg rapped, “Jesus washed every sin in my past,” and added, “Read scripts when I act, read Scripture like Acts.”
The challenge began with Forrest Frank singing about Jesus being alive, before Wahlberg added his own Christian-themed verse. Wahlberg has recently spoken openly about his faith, saying Jesus Christ is his Lord and Savior and that salvation is “by His grace.”
