A United States Senator just introduced a bill that millions of Americans have been demanding for years — stop using their tax dollars to pay welfare benefits to people who are in the country illegally.
Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky introduced the End Welfare for Non-Citizens Act in January 2026, legislation that would end federal funding for programs including TANF, Medicaid, SNAP, Section 8 housing vouchers, WIC, and federal student aid for illegal immigrants, refugees, asylees, and new entrants. Paul stated: “The End Welfare for Non-Citizens Act puts America First by stopping taxpayer dollars from being siphoned into benefits for non-citizens. Limited resources should serve American citizens, not foreigners.” A companion House bill was introduced by Rep. Greg Steube of Florida. The bill was introduced as part of a broader package following revelations of a Minnesota refugee welfare fraud scandal in which federal prosecutors allege more than $9 billion was stolen from programs designed for needy children and seniors.
Under current federal law, undocumented immigrants are already barred from most federal benefits — but states have found workarounds through Medicaid expansion waivers, emergency provisions, and refugee resettlement funding that has ballooned from under $2 billion per year in 2021 to nearly $9 billion annually by the end of the Biden administration.
For Americans watching their healthcare premiums rise and their local services stretched thin, the question is not complicated: who should American taxpayer dollars be for?
“But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” — 1 Timothy 5:8
Charity begins at home. So does government responsibility.
What do you think — should all federal welfare benefits be restricted to U.S. citizens only? #america #usa #justice
