From Addiction to GOP Front-Runner in Minnesota

A man who once lost everything to crack cocaine addiction is now leading the Republican primary to become the next governor of Minnesota. A new Big Data Poll released Friday, May 22, shows MyPillow founder Mike Lindell ahead of the GOP field at 21.3 percent, narrowly leading Minnesota House Speaker Lisa Demuth at 19.4 percent, with the lead expanding to 22 points if President Trump endorses him. The poll lands just days before the Minnesota Republican State Convention in Duluth on May 29 and 30, where party delegates will weigh in on their preferred nominee ahead of the August 11 primary. If Lindell wins, he will challenge a Democratic Party that has not lost a statewide race in Minnesota since 2006. What makes the story bigger than politics is the man himself. Lindell has spoken openly for years about how he overcame a years-long crack cocaine addiction through a religious conversion in 2009, the same year he founded MyPillow out of nothing. He has credited Jesus with saving his life and rebuilding his future from the ashes of what addiction nearly destroyed. Whatever a person thinks of his politics, the testimony is real, and it points to something far bigger than any election. God specializes in lives the world has written off. The same Jesus who walked into a graveyard to free a demon-possessed man still walks into crack houses, prison cells, and broken homes today. No one is too far gone for grace. “He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.” — Isaiah 61:1 Whether the story ends with a governor’s office or a primary loss, the deeper story is already written. A life delivered from addiction is a life that proves the Gospel still works. Who in your life needs to hear that no one is too broken for God to restore? #truth #america #faith
