Holy Week in Washington looked different this year, and millions noticed. On Palm Sunday, President Donald Trump used his Truth Social platform to publish in full a personal letter he had received from evangelist Franklin Graham, president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse. The letter laid out the gospel message in plain language, including the call from Romans 10:9 that whoever confesses Jesus as Lord and believes God raised him from the dead will be saved. A sitting president handing his entire follower base a clear gospel presentation during the most sacred week on the Christian calendar is not a small moment. Reactions came from every direction. Some Christians celebrated the visibility. Others questioned the motive. Both responses miss the deeper point. The gospel does not lose its power because of who delivers the envelope. Isaiah 55:11 says, “So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” Scripture has a way of working in soil no one expects. It has shown up in prison cells, palaces, hospital rooms, and now a presidential timeline read by tens of millions. The story underneath the headline is the same story every believer was first invited into. A holy God reaching for sinful people through a Savior who died and rose again. Holy Week is not a political season. It is the week the universe changed direction. Whether a person reads about it on a phone, in a pew, or in a quiet kitchen at sunrise, the invitation is identical. Believe and be saved.
