A Hollywood actor turned political voice just asked the question millions of Americans have been muttering at their televisions for years.
James Woods posted publicly that he wants to know “why aren’t you arresting these people for treason,” saying he cannot decide what frustrates him more — believing Democrats “staged a coup” against the president or believing the FBI “can’t find a single person to indict.” His commentary comes after months of declassified intelligence releases from Director Tulsi Gabbard tied to the 2016 Russia investigation, and after a federal grand jury earlier this year declined to indict six Democrat lawmakers the Justice Department had targeted over a viral military video. The competing realities have left half the country furious that nothing happens, and the other half furious that anything was attempted at all.
Whatever a person believes about who was right or wrong, the fatigue underneath it is real. Americans on both sides of the aisle are losing confidence that the institutions meant to deliver justice can deliver it at all. When the loudest voices come from celebrities instead of courtrooms, something has already broken upstream.
Scripture warned long ago that delayed justice does something specific to the human heart. It hardens it. Cynicism is not neutral. It corrodes the soul of a nation just as quickly as corruption itself.
“When the sentence for a crime is not quickly carried out, people’s hearts are filled with schemes to do wrong.” — Ecclesiastes 8:11
Christians are not called to pretend evil does not exist, nor to bow to political tribalism dressed up as righteousness. We are called to demand truth, to pray for those in authority, and to trust a Judge who never misses a detail and never accepts a bribe.
No man escapes the courtroom that matters.
What do you think it will take for Americans to trust the justice system again? #america #celebrity #justice
