One of Hollywood’s most outspoken Christian voices has never changed his message — and every June, the world is reminded of it.
Kirk Cameron, the former Growing Pains star turned Christian filmmaker and author, has consistently and publicly stated that marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman — and that Pride Month celebrations run counter to that design. Cameron converted to Christianity at age 17 and has spent the decades since building one of the most visible Christian media platforms in the country, including the films Fireproof and Courageous, the Brave Books children’s series, and his ongoing ministry with Ray Comfort. He has stated plainly that he believes marriage was defined by God in the Garden — one man, one woman, for life — and that no cultural movement changes that design. In 2023, he released a children’s book specifically reclaiming the word “pride” from its cultural association, arguing that biblical humility — not self-celebration — is the virtue God calls His people to. This June, as Cameron continues to advocate publicly for traditional marriage, the cultural debate he has been a part of for more than a decade shows no signs of slowing down.
Hollywood tried to silence him. Libraries tried to cancel his book tours. He kept going anyway.
That is not stubbornness. That is conviction.
“Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” — Genesis 2:24
God’s design has not changed. It has simply become more controversial to say so.
What do you think — should Christians speak up about biblical marriage during Pride Month, or stay quiet? #celebrity #truthfully #bible
