A pawn shop owner just stood at the White House podium and said what millions of small business owners have been thinking.
Rick Harrison, the 61-year-old star of History Channel’s “Pawn Stars” and owner of the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas, joined President Donald Trump at the White House Small Business Summit on Monday, May 4. During his impromptu remarks, Harrison told the room of small business owners from all 50 states that the President is “going to go down as maybe the best president ever,” and added, “I love this guy.” He also publicly thanked Trump for the One Big Beautiful Bill and the 100 percent depreciation provision benefiting business owners.
According to the U.S. Department of the Treasury, 12 million American small businesses received an average tax cut of more than $7,000 under the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, with the 199A pass-through deduction delivering an average of $4,600 in savings to roughly 8 million entrepreneurs. For Harrison, who has spent his life building a single Las Vegas pawn shop into a national brand, the policy is not theoretical. It is daily payroll, daily inventory, daily decisions about whether the next employee gets hired or sent home.
What makes the moment notable is not the politics but the plain-spoken honesty of someone who works for a living. Small business owners do not need to be polled.
