Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stood at the Pentagon podium last June and said what millions of Americans have been thinking for years.
Facing a press corps pressing him on whether U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities were effective, Hegseth fired back directly: “You cheer against Trump so hard — it’s like it’s in your DNA and in your blood. You take half truths, spun information, leaked information — to cause doubt and manipulate the public mind.”
The briefing came after anonymous intelligence leaks were used by major outlets to cast doubt on the success of historic U.S. military strikes. Hegseth accused reporters of undermining the mission of American pilots and service members who carried out the operation — and of rooting for failure rather than reporting facts.
The relationship between the American press and the American people has been fracturing for years. When a Secretary of Defense has to stand at a podium and accuse the media of wanting the country to fail, something has gone very wrong.
Proverbs 12:17 says: “An honest witness tells the truth, but a false witness tells lies.”
The standard has not changed. Only the willingness to meet it.
What do you think — do you trust the mainstream media to report the truth, or has that trust been broken for good? #america #truth #trump
