Speaker Mike Johnson has personally invited hundreds of America’s most prominent faith leaders to what may become one of the largest gatherings of believers in modern U.S. history.
In a letter first obtained by The Daily Caller, Johnson is calling pastors, ministry leaders, and worship voices from across the country to join President Donald Trump at the Rededicate 250 event on the National Mall this Sunday, May 17. The 11-hour gathering marks exactly 250 years to the day since the Second Continental Congress called for a day of prayer and fasting in 1776.
Johnson described the moment plainly. He wrote that this is a unique moment for believers, that for the first time in modern history a sitting U.S. president has called the nation to humble itself and rededicate America to God. He called it a moment of unity, repentance, and hope that transcends politics.
The lineup is extraordinary. Franklin Graham. Jack Graham. Jentezen Franklin. Bishop Robert Barron. Cardinal Timothy Dolan. Worship leaders including Chris Tomlin and Jonathan Roumie. Cabinet members like Pete Hegseth and Marco Rubio. Dr. Ben Carson.
Scripture tells us that when a nation forgets the Lord, judgment is not far behind. But Scripture also tells us that when a nation remembers, mercy follows close. King Hezekiah called Judah back to the temple after years of spiritual drift, and the nation that had nearly been lost was given more time.
America is at that same kind of crossroads. The drift has been long, but the door is still open. This Sunday, tens of thousands of believers will walk through that door together in the most public way the country has seen in a generation.
Will you be watching or attending Rededicate 250 this Sunday, and what are you asking God to do? #america #faith #usa
