3 Doors Down’s Brad Arnold Remembered for Rock and Faith

3 Doors Down announced with “heavy hearts” that founder and lead singer Brad Arnold passed away on February 7 at age 47 after battling cancer. He died peacefully, surrounded by his wife, Jennifer, and family.

Arnold helped define 2000s rock, writing hits like “Kryptonite,” which he penned at just 15. Beyond his music, he was outspoken about his faith in Jesus, often pausing concerts to share what Christ had done in his life. He regularly led crowds in declaring, “I am the one that Jesus loves!” and delivered messages of hope at shows across the country.

After battling addiction and stage IV cancer, Arnold said Jesus saved his life — and he refused to stay silent about it. He is remembered not only for his music, but for the faith he boldly proclaimed.
