American anti-abortion activist Dr. Abby Johnson said the Trump–Vance administration quietly restored tens of millions of dollars in Title X funding to Planned Parenthood in mid-December 2025—after previously withholding those funds earlier in the year.
According to Johnson, the move received little public attention and was largely ignored within the pro-life movement.
She noted that the funding restoration only came to light after the ACLU dropped its lawsuit against the administration on January 13, drawing limited media coverage.
Johnson criticized what she described as a “silence” among pro-life leaders, suggesting many were reluctant to speak out in order to protect the administration’s pro-life image.
Johnson also questioned the decision to feature Vice President JD Vance as a major speaker at the March for Life, pointing to the administration’s actions on Title X funding and its approval of generic chemical abortion pills. She argued these decisions conflict with claims of being strongly pro-life.
Calling the situation “shocking,” Johnson said she felt compelled to speak publicly because, in her view, others in the pro-life movement were unwilling to do so.
