Hollywood actors, ministry leaders, and government officials are coming together for America Reads the Bible, a nationwide event happening April 19–25 at Washington, D.C.’s Museum of the Bible.
Organized by Christians Engaged founder Bunni Pounds, the initiative aims to call Americans back to daily engagement with Scripture, especially as the nation approaches its 250th birthday.
The opening ceremony will feature appearances from Patricia Heaton, Candace Cameron Bure (serving as official spokesperson), Cameron and BJ Arnett, along with members of Congress and representatives from the Administration.
The event will be livestreamed on Great American Pure Flix, with the kickoff ceremony airing April 18.
Organizers say the goal is unity and spiritual renewal, emphasizing that simply reading and listening to the Bible can transform hearts, families, and communities. Great American Media CEO Bill Abbott called the gathering a reminder that America’s freedoms are rooted in God’s Word.
