Authorities in Barcelona have confirmed that human remains recovered near Port Olímpic belong to 20-year-old University of Alabama student Jimmy Gracey, who had been missing since early Tuesday morning.
Gracey was last seen around 3 a.m. while on a spring break trip with friends. The body was discovered by a worker near the waterfront, prompting a police response and dive team recovery.
Friend Cavin McLay described Gracey as a man of strong character who was always there for others. Gracey also served as chaplain of his fraternity, mentoring others in their faith and actively giving back through philanthropy.
