Former President Joe Biden praised Minnesotans protesting federal immigration enforcement actions following two recent law enforcement shootings, saying events in Minneapolis over the past month “betray our most basic values as Americans.”
In a statement posted to X, Biden condemned what he described as government violence against citizens and alleged violations of constitutional rights, while commending protesters for speaking out against injustice and holding leaders accountable.
He called for “full, fair, and transparent investigations” into the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, both killed in separate incidents involving federal officers.
