Jonathan Roumie, who portrays Jesus in the hit series The Chosen, says the show’s upcoming conclusion is “extremely bittersweet” after spending eight years in the role. He reflected on how playing Jesus deepened both his faith and personal relationship with Christ, making it difficult to say goodbye.
Roumie said he believes God has used the experience to prepare him for the next chapter of his career. While uncertain about what comes next, he expressed confidence that the Lord has been guiding him throughout the journey.
The actor also described his success as nothing short of a miracle, saying the odds of reaching this point were “astronomical.” Comparing the opportunity to “making it to the Olympics,” Roumie credited God for opening doors, allowing him to be seen, and giving him the talent to sustain such a successful series.
