Candace Cameron Bure on Faith and Integrity in Hollywood

In a interview on the “Stay True Podcast,” Candace Cameron Bure reflected on how her faith shaped her decisions while growing up in Hollywood. Though she didn’t fully recognize it at the time, she now believes the strong moral conviction she carried as a teen actress was God’s hand guiding her.

Faced with scripts involving sex scenes or pressure to pose more provocatively, Bure said it was often an “easy decision” to say no because her character and integrity mattered more than fame.

She admitted there were moments of jealousy when she saw peers gain attention through sexier roles, but her conscience—what she now understands as the Lord’s voice—kept her grounded.

Looking back, Bure says that conviction ultimately deepened when she began intentionally walking with God in her 20s. Today, she encourages others to listen to that inner voice, believing it may be God faithfully leading them to stay true to Him.
