Carrie Prejean Removed From Religious Liberty Commission After Antisemitism Hearing Clash

The Trump administration removed former Miss California Carrie Prejean Boller from the White House Religious Liberty Commission after she allegedly attempted to “hijack” a hearing on antisemitism to promote her own political agenda.

The hearing, held at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., focused on combating antisemitism and protecting religious freedom, but tensions escalated when Prejean wore a Palestinian flag pin, rejected Zionism, and defended commentator Candace Owens against accusations of antisemitism.

Commission chair Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said he personally made the decision to remove her, while Sen. Ted Cruz clarified that President Trump ultimately fired her. Prejean disputed the authority of her removal and doubled down on her remarks, stating she would “never bend the knee to the state of Israel.”

Her comments drew sharp criticism from Catholic leaders and conservative figures, who rejected her claim that Catholics oppose Zionism and reaffirmed support for Israel.
